Jon Huntsman, Sr. built the home for his family of nine children and their children as a place where they could all be together. The home was built out of logs reclaimed near Yellow Stone National Park. You can see all the exposed logs throughout the ceilings and walls of the home. The “cabin” sleeps 44; so it can accommodate the whole Huntsman clan. It has two bunk rooms with ten bunks each where the cousins could catch up and hang out. In all, there are twelve bedrooms and sixteen bathrooms to accommodate the family. The interior of the home is extremely colorful; decorated with the Huntsman’s collection of Navajo blankets. Even the carpets are of a Navajo design. He is said to have the largest Navajo blanket collection in the world. There is a dining room that seats twenty and a large stone fireplace in the middle of the great room. And when I say great room, I mean GIGANTIC ROOM. The seating areas in the house are enormous and again, beautifully decorated with Navajo wall hangings and Furniture and blankets to curl up under on those cold winter nights in Park City.
